At Corpus Christi, our History curriculum is shaped by the golden thread “How and Why People Make Journeys.” From EYFS to Year 6, pupils explore how people have travelled for leisure, adventure, cultural understanding, power, raiding, and—ultimately—safety and a better life. Through rich case studies, significant individuals and global events, children develop a strong sense of chronology, learn to use and question historical evidence, and make meaningful links between past and present. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and British Values, our curriculum inspires pupils to appreciate diverse cultures, understand the impact of human choices across time, and recognise their own role in shaping a better future.
