Year 6

Welcome to Year 6 at Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School

Year 6 is an exciting and important year for our pupils as they prepare for the end of Key Stage 2 and transition to secondary school. At Corpus Christi, we continue to live our vision of learning to love, loving to learn whilst living together in Christ. Jesus Christ remains at the heart of everything we do, guiding our learning and relationships.

Attendance and Punctuality

Attendance and punctuality are key in Year 6. Missing school means missing essential learning that prepares pupils for their Key Stage 2 SATs. Please support your child by ensuring they attend every day and arrive on time.

Curriculum and Learning Support

Our Year 6 curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire, combining the National Curriculum with our Catholic values. In addition to classroom learning, we run before and after school interventions for Maths, Reading and Grammar. Thank you to pupils and parents for supporting these sessions.
Children also have access to online learning platforms to reinforce skills at home:
Mathletics
Maths.co.uk
Spag.com
Reading Plus

Homework and Reading

Homework is set on Friday and should be completed and returned the following week.
Reading books are collected every Friday. Reading regularly is essential for progress in both reading and writing.
Spellings are taught throughout the week and tested on Friday.

PE

For Autumn 2, PE will take place on Tuesdays. Children should come to school in their PE kit on this day.
